About Linda Couraut

As the mother of two children, I know from personal, as well as professional experience the importance of our earliest interactions with infants.  As a pediatric vocational nurse in France, I worked in a regional maternity hospital for many years. Later, I worked at a regional medical center.

How can I help mothers to understand and communicate with their babies?
Over time, I used what I had learned in my professional life - and as a mother -  to create and offer courses in various settings (preschools, recreation centers).  Simply put, I provided infants, parents and caregivers a different way of creating bonds that are strong yet supple, and which are appropriate in terms of the expectations, level of development, and pace of each individual.

For family reasons, I came to the US in September of 2003. I learned about Doulas and thought that such work would be an excellent complement to my professional background.  I have completed  the Prenatal Doula Training Program and obtained my Certification from DONA (Doulas of North America).  I have also completed two additional courses, “Hospital Based Doulas” and “Thoughts on Breastfeeding”, and have completed certificate training as a specialist in Holistic Massage.

In addition to continuing my advanced studies as a Doula, I teach Conversational French at a community college and volunteer at the local hospital.

“...I would recommend Linda  highly to every lady who needs assistance in delivery by way of a coach, or simply just needs someone to be there through the process. Her knowledge and expertise is vast when it comes to delivery and caring of children and any one...would be wise to utilize her services.
